This one made it to my favorites. The characters were very believable. You just know who to love and yes there are a couple that you might just hate. There is a twist that I thoroughly enjoyed. It takes a character suddenly out of a horrid time in our countries history, and makes you wonder "what if?"
I loved this book and hope there is a follow up. This is a different take on time travel since a Civil War soldier travels to the present to find his soul mate. I did find some questions that were not answered and I am hoping that is because a follow up book in the works. A great romantic story, try it for something different.
Amazing, had me in tears, just wish there was an epiloge or a follow up book
When I read the opening pages of this book, I was so mesmerized, I couldn't wait to read the rest. It was difficult to put down. I would like to see more volumes on this story. There is a nice twist to the end that I would like to have seen developed further. It felt chopped off, and I was left with too many questions. However, it was a great story line and I will definitely read it again and recommend it.
"Traveler" is a fast, gripping read. Elaine Fox has a beautiful voice and a sure hand with the paranormal elements that bring two people from different worlds together. Told in the first person, the tale of Shelby and Carter's impossible relationship grabs me from the start and never lets go. This book has everything, including the fun of watching the wonderful Carter navigate in Shelby's modern world, the horror of the Civil War battlefield Carter traveled from, and the breathless anticipation of how he and Shelby find their way through time. I loved it!
For anyone who likes history tinged with a little bit of romance, this is the book for you. I appreciated the fact that the author allows the two main characters to interact with each other without jumping in the sheets so to speak. This one held my attention from start to finish. For anyone who likes a book with a little Civil War history that will put a smile on your face at the end, this is the book for you.
I just finished reading "Traveler" by Elaine Fox. Awesome book from the first sentence to the very last sentence of the book. I could not put down this book. I love reading about the Civil War and it being a time-travel book, it made it so much more interesting and different.
I highly recommend this book. It's a great book to read on a weekend, but I must warn you, you will not get anything done, so don't make plans. This is an escape book you will completely lose yourself in.
